The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green I expected to love, or at least like, this book. I love the Vlogbrothers videos, and think John Green is a smart and articulate person. I first heard about this book right after I visited Amsterdam, and so was excited to see someplace I had been featured in a YA book. Unfortunately, this was my first, and last, John Green book. A general summary of my emotions while reading:

Pre-reading: Excitement (John Green! YA books! Yay!)
Pages 1-10*: Confusion (Seriously? Are these characters for real?)
Pages 11-15: Anger (Did he really turn V for Vendetta into a 'man dies for woman' movie? THAT IS NOT WHAT IT IS ABOUT. Also, women love that movie, fyi. Just because John Green decided that Hazel didn't like it does not mean it is for men only)**
Pages 15-27: More anger (Misuse of 'soliloquy'...twice)
The rest of the book: Indifference (I don't care anymore, I just want it to be over)
Post-reading: Disappointment (Did I read the same book that everyone else did?)

In the end, I'll keep watching the videos and not read the books. DFTBA.

**This is the least of the things that made me upset, but is the one I can write about most coherently
